If you didn't know, Groundhog Day is coming up on Friday. To celebrate, enjoy these cheesy groundhog memes.Reminders
Coming up this week...Monday: Today you will get a class work day to work in your groups for the Silver Trade Project. Make sure your group has read the assigned article and starts preparing your presentation on it. The Silver Trade Project presentations will begin on Wednesday, the back half of class.
Tuesday: Today will also be a class work day for the Silver Trade Project. I would spend today making sure your group is finished/finishing your presentation for Wednesday.
Wednesday: It's presentation day! You'll have about 20 minutes to put all of your materials together and we will start presentations after that time is up. All groups must have shared their materials with me and after presenting, each student will complete a Peer Evaluation. Totaled scores of the peer evaluation will be a daily grade.
Thursday: We will finish our presentations today for the Silver Project. All groups must have shared their materials with me and after presenting, each student will complete a Peer Evaluation. Totaled scores of the peer evaluation will be a daily grade.
Friday: We will spend today debriefing each of the documents in our Silver DBQ packet. By the end of class, students will start working on their own to plan out possible outlines to write about according to our prompt.
This is our first official full week back at school for 2018!Just a couple of reminders before we breakdown this week:
Monday: Today we are going to continue working on and going over our Aztec-Inca Comparison Chart. After discussing the similarities and differences, we are going to use a practice prompt to work on writing thesis statements.
Tuesday: This is Course Selection Day so I will most likely not see you today (unless you signed up for my AP Study Group session). You will get to preview different courses before you make selections for the 2018-2019 school year.
Wednesday: Quiz day! We'll take care of this first and then start our lesson on Exploration and Colonization. Particularly, WHY Europeans are the first to start exploring when, really, people of the East had greater advantages to start.
Thursday: Today we are going to look at how Exploration and Colonization occurred. This includes studying some maps pre-exploration, tools and advantages, causes and effects, etc. All of this is to aid our understanding of how global trade is expanded and begun during this Early Modern Era.
Friday: Today we are going to introduce our next project: The Global Spread of Silver. Groups are going to work together to trace the spread of silver from the Americas to various parts of the world and its effects on those regions/states. Groups will have to prepare material to present to the class as well as be ready to draw out the various routes of trade as assigned.
