MY BAD Y'ALL! Let's get a quick run down of some reminders for the next week or two:
Here's a rundown of the week: Monday: After finishing any lingering presentations, we will work on a few of the requested documents of our DBQ for analysis. Remember - Silver DBQ Writing Day is Thursday. Plan accordingly.
Tuesday: After pictures are taken care of, we will work together to group our documents for our thesis structure and for our body paragraphs.
Wednesday: Today is time to work on your outline, as well as brainstorm ideas to work on outside evidence/complex thinking to show off in our writing. Bring your materials!
Thursday: Today is writing day - you'll have the entire period. Paper and a fresh set of documents will be provided as well.
Friday: States/Empires can be divided very simply in this time period: Land-Based and Sea-Based. We've covered Sea-Based with the expansion of global trade, now we can focus on our Land-Based Empires. Bring your laptop as we will be working on a chart together to organize the attributes of the three Gunpowder Empires (three of our land-based states)!
Welcome back for a new week!“Without the weekend, where would the week be?" (Anthony T. Hincks) It's Silver Trade Project Week! This is a fairly straightforward week:
Tuesday through Thursday: These are project work days for you and your group. Make sure you all are working collaboratively and efficiently making use of your time! Some notes:
Friday - Today is presentation day! Make sure you have completed your individual map to turn in as you present and have shared any prepared material with me.
This week is Course Selection! On Monday, in your English classes, you'll get your Course Selection sheets. Each day, your teachers will share about the courses in their department that you can choose to participate in next school year. Make sure you are paying attention and if you have any questions, ask your counselor or a teacher you trust for some insight! Looking to preview some info? Visit Klein Oak's Course Selection page on the website HERE. Let's look at what's coming up this week:Monday: Today we're going to finish our discussion/notes on the Renaissance period - we'll look at the intellectual and artistic trends as well as compare them to the Northern European Renaissance.
Tuesday: Today we'll start to trace the impact of the European Reformation on Early Modern Europe.
Wednesday: This class period will be our day to discuss other social studies courses you can take for Course Selection. Afterwards, we'll finish talking about the Reformation.
Thursday: Before we leave Europe completely, we have to tie the cultural and political trends we've gone through to the economic trends from the previous semester (Exploration and the Columbian Exchange). That's our topic for class today.
Friday: You're going to spend the first part of the period completing a Quiz over the Renaissance, Reformation and Columbian Exchange - make sure you've been paying attention and reading this week. After the quiz, we'll be introducing and starting a major-grade project on Silver Trade during the Early Modern Era.
