Here's what you can expect coming up this week:
Monday: Today we are going to be using excerpts from primary sources during the Modern Era to analyze the influence of science and technology on ideas of class, gender and race. This Google Doc assignment is available in Schoology and should be submitted by Wednesday, April 4th.
Tuesday: Today we are going to be completing a Gallery Walk over the different features of the Age of Imperialism. This document will be shared with you in OneNote. If you don't finish in class, it is due the next day.
Wednesday: Today we are going to focus one event that led to most of Imperialism, the Scramble for Africa. We will simulate the event in class with a game, then listen to a podcast over the Scramble for Africa. We'll also take time to do some multiple choice practice on it afterward.
Thursday: Today is a lecture day - we are going to discuss the Age of Imperialism as it occurred outside of European influence. This includes looking at the Ottomans, China, India, and other parts of the world in the East.
Friday: Today we are going to complete PERSIA charts in groups to further analyze what the Ottoman Empire, China, and Japan are like towards the end of the Modern Era.
- Homework: Tonight you are reading from Chapter 18, "Cooperation and Rebellion: Empires with a Difference." Use the online materials in Schoology as well as questions that were shared in OneNote!
