It's February! We are officially 100 days away from the AP Exam! Make sure you have gone to the following link below to register AND pay for your AP Exam. See the handout below OR go to our page on AP Exam Prep on the website HERE. Here's what you can expect coming up this week: Monday: It's DBQ Week! We will spend the class period today working through what the structure of our essay should look like. Remember that you are still responsible for being able to supply and explain the information in the essay itself - we only discuss structure. I am available for tutoring after school until 4:00. We also will be using our Schoology Conference tool to meet this evening if you have any questions. See the schedule below!
Tuesday: This is our DBQ Writing Day - you will be writing the Silver DBQ in class today! Please have notebook paper and a pen - blue or black. You will have all period to write and must turn in the essay before the end of the period. All outlines, if completed, should be turned in as well.
Wednesday: Today in class we will be looking more closely at the creation of sugar plantations and the impact of the Atlantic Slave Trade. These are two more important areas of global trade we need to cover before moving on to political changes during the Early Modern Era.
Thursday: Today we are going to discuss the rise and attributes of the Gunpowder Empires of the Early Modern Era. We are going to work on a chart together to compare and contrast each one. If not finished in class, we will continue working on it in class tomorrow.
Friday: After going through the attributes and key facts of the Gunpowder Empires, we will practice with an LEQ Prompt to show our understanding. Students will be allowed to bounce ideas off of each other, but all outlines are their own. This will not result in the writing of another essay, but is meant to practice making connections and essay preparation skills.
