To those celebrating, Happy Valentines! Ever wonder how that good excuse to eat chocolate all day came about?Reminders:
Here's our breakdown for this week:Monday: In class we will be discussing the Gunpowder Empires (Ottoman, Safavid, Mughal) and then analyzing their characteristics by practicing the process of outlining an LEQ Essay.
Tuesday: We will spend time finishing up our LEQ Practice as well as taking our Quiz over the Gunpowder Empires in class today.
Wednesday: Today is a lecture day over the last two Chinese dynasties - Ming and Qing. Class notes will be shared in the appropriate tab in OneNote so that you can have a copy to add to.
Thursday: Today we are going to look at new perspectives of the Ming and Qing dynasties with some document analysis practice. This assignment will be due at the end of the period after discussion of our findings.
Friday: In class we will be using a primary source reading to compare our Ming and Qing dynasties to other empires we've studied in the Classical Empire - you will have to decide if these dynasties constitute a Chinese "Empire" in the early modern era and why.
