Big week ahead!Quick reminder! Last week, students received a white sheet detailing how Klein Oak has the opportunity to participate in a Pilot Program with CollegeBoard. Students will be asked to participate in surveys and need to have this form completed and returned by Wednesday, September 27th. Please make sure this is brought back to me on that day. If you are taking another AP Course and have turned the form in with that teacher, you do not have to turn it in with me again.
Here's your breakdown of the week coming up. Our big focus is our first LEQ. :o Monday: Today classes will finish their discussion on Classical Empires and a few of the early religions. Once finished, there's a quick 15-question Kahoot to recap and review some information from Period 1 and Period 2. Homework: In order to make the best use of our time for later this week, we are going to stack our reading toward the front end of the week. I know you guys can do it. So tonight your reading comes first from Chapter 3, the section on "India". The second reading comes from Chapter 5, the section called "Case of Caste". Tuesday: QUIZ DAY! Anything from Period 1 and Period 2 is fair game. We'll only have 20 minutes to complete the quiz (get used to time limits on multiple choice sections like on the AP Exam). After, we will start to go through how to write and organize LEQ Essays, since we are going to write our first one on Thursday. Homework: One more heavy day of reading then some time off.. Chapter 4, read the section titled "Cultural Traditions of India" and the section titled "Christianity with Buddhist Comparisons". Wednesday: Today is solely devoted to breaking down our prompt and planning out our essay! This includes creating a basic outline together with a proper thesis statement, along with getting some time on your own to brainstorm and tweak your outline. Homework: Prep for your essay tomorrow! This is a major grade! Thursday: ESSAY DAY! You will come into class, take a seat (our desks will be in rows) starting on Tuesday. We'll go back to our tables on Monday. Homework: NONE! Day off! WHOO! Friday: Today we're going to peer evaluate and self-evaluate our writing. Before today, please pick up sets of highlighters (preferably ones with the colors, yellow/orange/pink/green/blue/purple)! Homework: Back to reading, this week, read from Chapter 6, the section "Continental Comparisons". Comments are closed.
