Welcome!Teaching is one of my greatest passions! I am so excited to work with you, parents and students, this school year. It is going to be a full-year of learning, fun, and adventure! I look forward to an incredible year with you. Remember that this class blog is a great way to preview what's coming up this week and any assignments/tests/quizzes/projects/etc. that you'll be doing. It's also a great resource if you are (planning to be) absent. Here's what we have coming up this week in World History AP:Monday: It's the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Today we're going to go over our class expectations and a few things in our syllabus, but mainly we're going to learn more about YOU! Tuesday: Today we're going to preview the different historical thinking skills that are going to be used in World History often! This'll be a group rotation activity and you'll be working on how to recognize those skills when you see them.
Wednesday: Today we're going to talk about the Paleolithic Era and how early humans lived and evolved with the environment. You can preview that information with the video below. Be prepared to participate in a small class debate today!
Thursday: In class today we're going to be working in groups on a game to simulate how early humans lived differently in the Paleolithic and Neolithic Eras. Bringing your competitive caps!
Friday: Today we're going to spend some time discussing the Neolithic Era and what differences we noticed after our simulation. Then, we're going to go through a secondary source from a prominent historian, Jared Diamond. As we read through his article, we'll work on how to annotate and "read to learn" together.
Don't forget that laptop fees can be paid via School Cash Online.
